Summary:

This program features Carin Barnes, and her story of hope, faith, and miracles. Stricken by cancer in her breast, hip, jaw, spine and skull, she knows the reality of trusting God when she didn't understand. Carin was familiar with cancer. In 1999 her mother passed away from the disease. Carin said she never wanted to be stricken with it, yet in 2004, she found herself in a hospital room, facing that very fear, surrounded by teams of doctors with little answers. Two spinal surgeries later, and no promises of ever walking again, she did what she had done many times before. She sought God. Watch the AWL show to be inspired by this special lady.

"Dare to believe that God living inside you is bigger than any circumstance you face." – Sharon Hinton Smith

Carin Barnes in 2007

Carin was familiar to cancer. In 1999 her mother passed away from the disease. Carin said she never wanted to be stricken with it, yet in 2004, she found herself in a hospital room, facing that very fear, surrounded by teams of doctors with few answers. Two spinal surgeries later, and no promises of ever walking again, she did what she had done many times before. She sought God.

In God’s arms through the truth of His Word, Carin found compassion, hope and peace.

She received great insight through these Scriptures:

Isaiah 53:5

"But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed." (KJV)

Psalm 103, especially verse 11

"For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is His love for those who fear Him." (NIV)

Ephesians 3:17b-18

"And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ." (NIV)

The image on the left was taken in 2007 on a hike up this mountain, after all of her surgeries and no assurance that she would ever walk again. She is married to Steve and has three children.
