Are you a victim or an over-comer? Did you know that it really is your choice? This program is filled with inspiration to help you pick yourself up from whatever pit you're in, and start with a fresh hope for today. It all begins with identifying and making good choices. Did you know that failure is an event, not a person? If you are down, let this program help motivate you to be the winner you were born to be!

Use these notes as a guide as you watch this program.

How to have a better life by identifying and making good choices.

  • Happiness
  • Financial Security
  • Good Family Relationships
  • Friends
  • To fill the void inside (The God Place)

How do we get these things out of life?

Through little choices we make everyday! It's the small things that really make the big difference. A table wouldn't be standing if it weren’t for the little screws that hold it together. A half second delay can be the difference in having a fatal accident. We can overcome our fears, setbacks, insecurities, and injustices that we face. It is simply our choice to want to do it.

Motivational Minute
You can't drive forward while still looking in the rear view mirror.

Realize some truths:

  • Yesterday is gone; today is a new day.
  • Failure is an event, not a person. That wonderful motivational speaker, Zig Ziglar coined this true statement: "You are what you are; you are where you are, because of what has gone into your mind. You can change what you are; you can change where you are by changing what goes into your mind."
  • Choosing friends who are not negative complainers.
  • Choosing to recognize bad thoughts and stopping them right away instead of letting them fester and churn inside your mind. Too much of letting the bad thoughts in will turn your stomach in knots and create constant worry.
  • Choose to stop watching television shows that constantly show arguing.
  • We have one chance at life. There are no do-overs!

2 Corinthians 5:17 "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone the new has come!"

2 Corinthians 5:20 "We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us."

1 Corinthians 15:33 "Bad company corrupts good character."

Examples from Real Lives

  • In the Bible, one of Jesse's sons was to be named King. No one thought it would be the youngest son named David who was a simple shepherd boy. They actually didn’t even bring him before the prophet to be considered. The world sold him short, but God had bigger plans!
  • Winston Churchill had a lisp, but he didn’t sit around feeling sorry for himself or decide not to speak for the rest of his life. No! In 1953 he won a Nobel Peace Prize in part for his brilliant public speaking.
  • Benjamin Franklin. Many of us know him as the man with the kite who proved that lightening has an electrical discharge. Do you know that you can also give credit to him for bifocal glasses? Did you know that he was the 15th child in his family and went to work at age 10? He left home at 17 years of age, with no money, but by the ripe old age of 24 became the sole owner of a business.
  • In Luke 17:11, the Bible says that 10 men who had leprosy heard that Jesus was traveling by and they went to meet Jesus . They stood at a distance and called to Jesus to heal them. He did.

What would have happened if those men had just stayed in their little colony of lepers feeling sorry for themselves? They would have probably still been there feeling sorry for themselves until they died. They made the choice to get up! They made the choice to stop looking in the rear view mirror! They made the choice not to listen to those around them, to those who continued to discourage them by telling them to stay where they were because neither Jesus nor anyone else could heal them. They decided that today could be a brand new day. They chose to consider a better life for themselves. They chose to believe that they were not stuck in the past. They chose to believe that life could be different!

    What are you facing today?

Take Action: From this day forward I choose to be an over comer! Each day, I will make a conscious effort to identify and make good choices.
